Established in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), UN Migration Agency, is the leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration. IOM is seeking a National PSEAH Officer to support the implementation of prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment activities in Malawi.
The position is based in Lilongwe and supports the Country Office in strengthening safeguarding systems, mainstreaming PSEAH across programming and operations, supporting training and awareness initiatives, contributing to reporting and complaint mechanisms, participating in interagency coordination, and helping ensure survivor-centred referral and victim assistance pathways are up to date and accessible.
Job summary
IOM is recruiting a National PSEAH Officer based in Lilongwe, Malawi. The role supports prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment through risk mitigation, staff and partner training, awareness raising, reporting mechanisms, coordination with interagency networks, data tracking, and support to victim assistance pathways.
Responsibilities
Provide inputs for the development and implementation of country-level PSEAH work plans.
Support inclusion of PSEAH in country strategy, proposals, programming, monitoring, evaluation, and risk management.
Participate in interagency PSEA networks and related coordination platforms.
Carry out assessments to identify SEAH risks and support mitigation measures across programmes and operations.
Coordinate and deliver PSEAH trainings for IOM personnel, partners, and key stakeholders.
Track and report training participation and related PSEAH data.
Support awareness-raising, key messaging, and communication materials on prohibited conduct, reporting channels, and available support mechanisms.
Work with programme teams to strengthen safe and accessible community-based reporting channels.
Support mapping and strengthening of victim assistance and referral pathways in coordination with GBV and child protection actors.
Contribute to reporting, visibility, learning, and knowledge sharing on PSEAH results and good practices.
Requirements
Relevant professional experience in safeguarding, protection, PSEA/PSEAH, GBV, child protection, humanitarian coordination, or related programming.
Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including programme teams, partners, and interagency networks.
Experience supporting training, awareness raising, reporting systems, or complaint mechanisms is an advantage.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
Fluency in English required.
