UN Women is recruiting a JPO Programme Analyst for Women’s Economic Empowerment in Lilongwe, Malawi. Reporting to the Programme Specialist for Women’s Economic Empowerment, the role contributes to programme design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation for the country office’s WEE portfolio, working closely with government, donors, civil society and UN Women teams.
The role supports programme strategy, partner coordination, results-based management, monitoring and reporting, advocacy, inter-agency coordination and resource mobilization. This Junior Professional Officer post is sponsored by the Government of Finland and is open exclusively to Finnish nationals, with a maximum age of 32 at the application deadline.
Job summary
UNDP is recruiting for a UN Women JPO Programme Analyst role in Lilongwe focused on women's economic empowerment, programme management and stakeholder engagement. This JPO post is open only to Finnish nationals.
Responsibilities
Provide substantive inputs to the design and formulation of Women’s Economic Empowerment programme and project proposals.
Identify priority areas for programme support and intervention within the WEE portfolio.
Provide technical inputs to annual workplans and budgets.
Lead implementation of programme activities and partner coordination.
Coordinate calls for proposals, technical review committees and partner capacity assessments.
Review and monitor implementing partner narrative and financial reports.
Train partners on Results Based Management and monitor implementation.
Support monitoring missions, results reporting, donor reporting and UN Women reporting.
Prepare project summaries, briefing notes, speeches and donor profiles.
Support inter-agency coordination, advocacy campaigns, trainings and knowledge products on Women’s Economic Empowerment.
Requirements
Master’s degree or equivalent in agriculture, economics, social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, international development, or a related field is required.
Project or programme management certification is an added advantage.
At least 2 years of paid and progressively responsible experience in programme or project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, or capacity building.
Experience in Women’s Economic Empowerment, particularly agriculture and/or infrastructure, is an asset.
Experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or donors is an asset.
Fluency in English is required
knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
Open exclusively to Finnish nationals under the JPO scheme.
Maximum 32 years of age at the application deadline.
