Job summary
Plan International is hiring a SOYEE Coordinator in Lilongwe to lead youth employment, entrepreneurship, programme quality, partnerships, and resource mobilisation work in Malawi.
Responsibilities
Lead the development, adaptation, and application of SOYEE programming approaches, principles, methodologies, and tools.
Provide technical leadership in designing SOYEE programmes, annual plans, and standard operating procedures for Plan International Malawi.
Develop technical documents, reports, manuals, and guidelines aligned with national and international standards.
Identify and engage implementing and strategic partners in youth employment, entrepreneurship, and youth collective action.
Oversee evidence gathering, best-practice documentation, and thematic leadership on skills development and TVET.
Provide technical guidance to project teams during implementation and ensure outcome-level monitoring and evaluation plans are in place.
Lead programme reflection, stock-taking, supportive supervision, and quality implementation across SOYEE projects.
Support proposal development, donor engagement, and resource mobilisation with the Business Development Team.
Train staff and partners, strengthen organisational learning, and embed gender-transformative approaches in SOYEE programming.
Build strategic relationships with government, UN agencies, civil society, and private sector actors to influence policy and expand opportunities for girls and young women.
Requirements
Master’s degree in social science, Sociology, Development Studies, Gender and Development, International Affairs, Economics, or another relevant field.
At least 7 years of experience implementing projects related to youth employment and entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, and private sector engagement.
Strong experience working with private sector actors and engaging them in SOYEE programming.
Experience in gender, age, disability, social inclusion, protection, NGO, or UN-context programming.
Strong representation, moderation, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Solid experience in resource mobilisation with a variety of donors.
Experience designing and delivering interactive or innovative trainings and workshops.
