Save the Children International is recruiting an Innovations Manager in Lilongwe, Malawi to lead innovation and digital transformation across the Malawi portfolio.
The role leads implementation of the country office innovation strategy, manages the innovation pipeline from idea generation through pilot testing and scale-up, promotes human-centred design and digital inclusion, and works with technical teams to embed child-focused innovation across programmes.
The post also builds strategic partnerships with donors, private-sector actors, innovation hubs, and government stakeholders while strengthening evidence generation, learning, and localisation. Responsibilities
Lead innovation and digital transformation work across Save the Children's Malawi portfolio.
Implement the country office innovation strategy and oversee key innovation initiatives.
Champion human-centred design, digital inclusion, and localisation with children, youth, and communities involved in solution design.
Manage innovation pipelines from ideation through pilot testing, scale-up, evidence generation, and learning.
Build and maintain partnerships with donors, private-sector actors, innovation hubs, and government stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
Professional certifications in product development, innovation, or related disciplines are an added advantage.
5 to 7 years of experience leading innovation, digital, or technology-for-development initiatives.
Experience with human-centred design, agile methodologies, and evidence-based programme design.
Experience managing multi-stakeholder projects, including budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation.
Strong facilitation, coaching, capacity-building, planning, coordination, and reporting skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools such as Figma and Miro.
Familiarity with donor requirements and integrating innovation into proposal development.
Fluency in written and spoken English and strong alignment with Save the Children's values and mission.
