UX Designer
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Proven experience designing user interfaces through a human-centred design process, ideally in complex or embedded systems.</li><li>Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end UX design, including research, prototyping, testing, and delivery.</li><li>Proficiency in Figma, including prototyping, use of components, variants, auto layout, and libraries.</li><li>Experience working within and contributing to a design system and component library.</li><li>Strong understanding of usability, accessibility, and user experience principles.</li><li>Ability to design and deliver user stories, journeys, and prototypes that reflect customer needs and business goals.</li><li>Comfortable working in agile, multi-disciplinary teams and fast-paced environments.</li><li>Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and present complex ideas clearly.</li><li>Confident facilitating workshops and synthesising feedback into actionable design improvements.</li><li>Familiarity with the automotive or consumer electronics landscape, including awareness of UX/UI consistency across platforms.</li><li>Ability to incorporate customer feedback, usage metrics, and research insights into design decisions.</li><li>Experience designing for automotive, mobility, or embedded systems (desirable).</li><li>Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies (desirable).</li><li>Exposure to behavioural research methods and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data (desirable).</li><li>Experience conducting various forms of user research and synthesizing the data to inform design decisions (desirable).</li><li>Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design, Psychology, Human Factors, or Ergonomics.</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Design user interfaces for in-vehicle systems, grounded in human-centred design principles and aligned with usability and industry standards.</li><li>Translate complex requirements into clear, testable interaction concepts using Figma and prototyping tools.</li><li>Work within and contribute to the Design System, ensuring consistent use of components, patterns and interaction models.</li><li>Collaborate with DesignOps to evolve the component library, ensuring it supports current and future UX needs.</li><li>Partner with researchers and behavioural scientists to plan and interpret user testing, iterating designs based on insights.</li><li>Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning and design reviews as part of a cross-functional team.</li></ul>

<p>We are an OEM client based in Gaydon, searching for a UX Designer to join our team on an Inside IR35 contract. This role is hybrid, requiring 3 days a week in the office in Gaydon, along with quarterly departmental planning events. The UX Designer will generate and deliver high-quality interaction design for future products, focusing on user interface systems across various in-vehicle displays and emerging interaction modalities.
