Junior IT Technician
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Good communication skills – personable, confident and able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users</li><li>Good time management – able to balance multiple tasks and prioritise accordingly to meet IT deadlines</li><li>Team working – ability to work closely with other junior/senior technicians</li><li>Comfortable following instructions and asking questions when unsure</li><li>Positive attitude and keen to learn while on the job</li><li>Hands on, not shy to get under desks, run cables etc.</li><li>Passion for technology and IT in general with a willingness to learn new systems, tools and technologies</li><li>Demonstrable interest in IT and technology, either through education, apprenticeship or hands-on experience</li><li>Basic computer hardware knowledge (PCs, laptops, monitors and printers)</li><li>Familiarity with Windows 11 and/or macOS</li><li>Basic understanding of networking concepts (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, internet connectivity)</li><li>Awareness of IT security best practices (password policies, antivirus, data protection)</li><li>Microsoft 365 user-level knowledge (Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel)</li><li>Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills</li><li>Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users</li><li>(Desirable) Around 1 year of IT support experience</li><li>(Desirable) Experience in an IT support or helpdesk environment</li><li>(Desirable) Familiarity with Windows Server</li><li>(Desirable) Experience with OS updates, patches and restart procedures</li><li>(Desirable) Basic Microsoft 365 administration (user creation, Exchange administration etc.)</li><li>(Desirable) Experience configuring laptops and desktops in a business environment</li><li>(Desirable) Relevant IT qualification or completed apprenticeship</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Provide front-line IT support to staff (hardware, software, connectivity)</li><li>Log and resolve support requests, escalating when needed</li><li>Assist and responsible for set up and maintain users devices (PCs, laptops, tablets, phones and peripherals)</li><li>Assist with IT projects, system upgrades and equipment rollouts</li><li>Support basic troubleshooting and best practice within the department</li><li>Escalate complex issues to the Senior IT Technician when required</li><li>Deliver friendly, professional support to ensure a positive user experience</li></ul>
