Senior Platform Engineer
<p><b>Salary: £70,000 - 100,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Strong experience designing and operating AWS infrastructure in production environments</li><li>Hands-on experience with Terraform and CI/CD-driven infrastructure provisioning</li><li>Solid Kubernetes experience, ideally managing workloads on AWS EKS</li><li>Strong Linux, networking, and cloud security fundamentals</li><li>Experience with observability tooling and structured alerting practices</li><li>Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and database operations</li><li>Scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, or similar)</li><li>Collaborative mindset with a passion for improving engineering efficiency</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Design, build, and operate scalable AWS infrastructure across services including EC2, EKS, RDS/Aurora, ElastiCache, OpenSearch, and CloudFront</li><li>Lead the adoption and optimisation of Kubernetes (EKS) for production and internal workloads</li><li>Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code pipelines using Terraform (or similar) integrated with CI/CD</li><li>Implement zero-downtime deployment strategies including blue/green, rolling, and canary releases</li><li>Improve platform resilience, scalability, and availability by eliminating single points of failure</li><li>Enhance observability and monitoring using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch</li><li>Partner with Security teams to embed best practices across IAM, secrets management, and cloud posture</li><li>Optimise cloud performance and spend through automation and visibility tooling</li><li>Contribute to incident response, post-incident reviews, and continuous operational improvements</li></ul>
