Release Train Engineer - Defence
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Proven experience as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) or similar Agile leadership role in a SAFe delivery environment</li><li>Strong understanding of software delivery processes, tools, and team-based engineering delivery</li><li>Confident stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non-technical groups</li><li>Experience coaching teams and navigating delivery challenges/conflict</li><li>SAFe certification (e.g., SAFe RTE or equivalent)</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Facilitate and drive SAFe ceremonies/events (PI Planning, ART sync, demos, workshops, retros, backlog refinement)</li><li>Partner with Product and delivery leadership to prioritise features, manage flow, and maximise value delivery</li><li>Identify, manage, and resolve cross-team dependencies (upstream/downstream)</li><li>Coach and support Scrum Masters/Team Coaches, helping teams improve delivery maturity</li><li>Proactively remove impediments and resolve conflicts, maintaining momentum across teams</li><li>Track and support programme-level coordination: milestones, timelines, risks, and delivery health</li><li>Use data/metrics to drive continuous improvement across the ART</li></ul>

<p>We are partnering with a well-known defence agency located in Hereford, seeking a Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join our team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will work on safety and security-critical technology programmes, playing a key role in coordinating multiple agile teams and driving delivery cadence while embedding SAFe best practices across the Agile Release Train (ART). We offer a competitive salary up to £82,000, depending on experience, along with benefits. This position requires someone willing to undergo DV clearance for national security vetting.</p>
