Product Designers are strategic partners to Engineering and Product Management within their product area. In close collaboration with product teams, they shape user experiences, then translate them into high-quality designs that can be tested, shipped, and refined. Designers are responsible for building elegant, functional products that users love—and want to tell others about.The Optimized Checkout Suite team gives merchants prebuilt checkout surfaces that are optimized for conversion and scale as merchants expand to new geographies, customer segments, and business models. The sheer volume of payments that flow through our checkout surfaces on an hourly basis necessitates the highest level of craft and reliability, which means that checkout product designers have the chance to create and ship the best work of their careers.What you’ll doYou will be the design lead for the Optimized Checkout Suite’s Dashboard presence. Your immediate focus will be a new product experience in Stripe’s Dashboard that enables merchants to optimize high-performing checkout flows with little to no coding. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.Minimum requirementsHas 10+ years of relevant experience at a tech, product-driven companySkilled at operating independently to turn ambiguous, complex problems into simple, intuitive solutionsAdept at translating business objectives into customer-centered design opportunitiesStrong visual and interaction design skillsConfident presenting work to company leadership and skilled at communicating design decisions through clear, compelling storytellingExperienced in leading peer designers, either as a design manager or senior ICPreferred qualificationsExperienced in working on horizontal projects that span multiple organizations and product teamsBackground in SaaS, e-commerce, or fintech products
