Technical Apparel Designer
<h3>Job description</h3>POSITION OVERVIEW<br> This role is ideal for a technically minded apparel designer who thrives in the intersection of creativity and execution. You’ll work closely with our design and development team to translate creative concepts into production-ready garments. You’ll own the design and development process—curating design, creating tech packs, managing samples, communicating with international vendors, and ensuring our final product meets our quality standards.<br><br>RESPONSIBILITIES<br>Concept and translate design concepts into accurate and detailed tech packs<br>Manage product development from initial proto to final production approval<br>Collaborate with factories (international and domestic) on fit, construction, and material selection<br>Attend fittings, update specs, and maintain fit consistency across styles<br>Source fabrics and trims based on performance, durability, and style<br>Support timeline management to ensure key milestones are hit<br>Coordinate sample development and lab dips with vendors<br><br>QUALIFICATIONS<br>3–5 years of experience in technical design or product development (menswear or performance apparel preferred)<br>Strong knowledge of garment textiles, construction, patternmaking, and fit across multiple categories<br>Experience working with overseas factories and understanding production timelines<br>Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and tech pack development<br>Familiarity with BOMs, grading, and PLM systems<br>Detail-oriented and organized with excellent communication skills<br>Passion for golf or outdoor performance wear is a plus<br><br>Benefits:<br>Competitive salary and compensation package<br>Stock options<br>Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance<br>Flexible work hours and remote work options<br>Opportunities for professional development and career advancement<br>Dynamic and collaborative work environment with a culture of innovation and impact within the Greater DC Area with offices in NY, PVB and LA as well.<br><br>The salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $80,000, depending on experience and qualifications.<br><br>Pro Shop is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
