Security Engineer
<p><b>Salary: £55,000 - 55,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>I expect candidates to have knowledge and hands-on experience in the management of IDS/IPS, Firewall, VPN, EDR/XDR, mail filtering, and other security products.</li><li>Experience with Security Information Event Management (SIEM) tools, including the creation of basic correlation rules and administration of SIEM, is preferred.</li><li>Candidates should have expertise in TCP/IP network traffic and event log analysis.</li><li>Network troubleshooting skills are required.</li><li>I look for knowledge and hands-on experience in penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and security tools like Tenable Nessus and Kali Linux.</li><li>Familiarity with ITIL disciplines such as Incident, Problem, and Change Management is beneficial.</li><li>Experience in infrastructure design and management in mission-critical environments is preferred.</li><li>An understanding of Virtual Infrastructure and Windows environments is advantageous.</li><li>I value effective communication, organizational, problem-solving, and presentation skills.</li><li>Self-motivated individuals who can work independently while supported will thrive in this role.</li><li>I appreciate candidates who can build trusting, collaborative relationships but also demonstrate a strong sense of accountability and ownership.</li><li>Knowledge of ISO 27001 and CE standards is desirable.</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>I will ask you to create and perform security assessments and threat models.</li><li>You will develop, implement, and maintain security standards and plans.</li><li>I need you to research vulnerabilities and find ways to counter them.</li><li>You will respond to attack vectors and security incidents, coordinating incident response across teams.</li><li>Testing company software, firmware, and firewalls will be part of your responsibilities.</li><li>You will design software security systems, including intrusion detection systems and firewalls.</li><li>Maintaining and improving network security systems is expected.</li><li>Analyzing security systems for continual improvement will be an essential part of your role.</li><li>I expect you to help develop platforms and tools that automate and enhance security posture across the group.</li></ul>
