Data Architect
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Experience working with UK Government departments or public sector bodies.</li><li>Strong experience designing and implementing data architectures on AWS platforms.</li><li>Ability to create and present entity relationship diagrams, logical data models, and high-level architecture diagrams.</li><li>Familiarity with data modelling standards, metadata management, and data governance.</li><li>Knowledge of security, privacy, and compliance requirements within UK Government projects.</li><li>Proficiency with tools like Lucidchart, ER/Studio, Draw.io, or similar for diagramming.</li><li>Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.</li><li>Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline (Desirable).</li><li>AWS Data Analytics or Solution Architect certification (Desirable).</li><li>Willingness and eligibility to achieve a minimum of SC clearance (must have been a UK resident for a minimum of 5 years and have the right to work in the UK).</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Collaborate with Technical Architects (TAs) to define and document high-level architectural data designs.</li><li>Create and maintain end-to-end data flow diagrams, logical data models, and entity relationship diagrams (ERDs).</li><li>Design scalable, secure, and robust data architectures on AWS, incorporating services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, RDS, and Lambda.</li><li>Work with stakeholders to understand business and data requirements and translate them into architectural blueprints.</li><li>Ensure data architecture complies with government standards for security, interoperability, and performance.</li><li>Guide development teams and mentor data engineers and analysts on best practices.</li><li>Participate in reviews of proposed designs, providing input into architecture governance and assurance processes.</li></ul>
