Embedded Software Engineer
<p><b>Salary: £50,000 - 50,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or similar</li><li>Strong experience developing firmware in C/C++ for resource-constrained embedded systems</li><li>Experience with RTOS environments (e.g., Zephyr)</li><li>Familiarity with compilers, IDEs and firmware development tools</li><li>Knowledge of digital electronics and common hardware interfaces</li><li>Experience with Git or similar version control tools</li><li>Knowledge of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or TCP/IP protocols (desirable)</li><li>Experience integrating BLE stacks and optimising power usage (desirable)</li><li>Understanding of compliance considerations (CE, FCC, EMC) (desirable)</li><li>Scripting experience (e.g., Python) for automation or testing (desirable)</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Design, develop and maintain embedded firmware (C/C++) for microcontroller-based systems</li><li>Lead or contribute to firmware projects, ensuring timely and robust delivery</li><li>Support hardware bring-up, BSP development, and integration of peripheral drivers</li><li>Provide technical input, participate in code reviews, and share best practices</li><li>Help implement CI/CD processes for reliable, frequent deployments</li><li>Contribute to full product lifecycle: concept, development, production and post-launch support</li><li>Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation</li></ul>

<p>We are offering a fantastic opportunity for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Southampton. You will work on modern embedded systems used across environmental monitoring and industrial automation. Our supportive and innovative environment promotes technical excellence, with a competitive salary of £50,000. We offer a great work-life balance with Monday to Thursday hours from 8:30am to 5pm, and Fridays from 8:30am to 4pm. Enjoy 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing annually to 28 days, as well as a one-month paid sabbatical after 6 years of service.</p>
