Senior Software Engineer
<p><b>Salary: £106,528 - 106,528 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Strong Python development experience</li><li>Solid software engineering fundamentals: version control, testing, deployment, CI/CD and lifecycle management, troubleshooting and optimisation</li><li>Experience working with databases, storage systems, and basic ETL workflows</li><li>Experience with AWS or another cloud environment (advantageous)</li><li>Familiarity with ML frameworks or libraries (preferred but not essential)</li><li>2–5 years in a commercial software engineering role preferred</li><li>Experience working in an engineering, industrial, or aerospace environment is a bonus</li><li>Able to take a leading role in delivering technical projects</li><li>Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills</li><li>Collaborative, autonomous, and proactive mindset</li></ul>

<ul><li>Develop, deploy, and maintain software solutions that integrate AI/ML functionality</li><li>Build robust, high-quality Python applications used within engineering workflows</li><li>Contribute to the design and implementation of data pipelines and data storage solutions</li><li>Support troubleshooting, optimisation, and ongoing maintenance of AI-enabled systems</li><li>Prototype and implement applied ML functions (e.g., classification, prediction, feature extraction) where needed</li><li>Integrate models developed by global AI/ML teams into production-ready engineering tools</li><li>Perform data preparation, analysis, and exploratory investigations to support engineering needs</li><li>Provide guidance to junior engineers and apprentices at the Gloucester site</li><li>Uphold technical standards, coding best practices, and documentation quality</li><li>Influence design decisions and ensure reliability across software initiatives</li><li>Work closely with AI/ML experts in Toronto and Paris, facilitating knowledge transfer and technical alignment</li><li>Collaborate across business and IT to meet engineering objectives</li><li>Identify and champion improvements in tooling, processes, coding practices, and methodologies</li><li>Stay aware of emerging software engineering and AI technologies</li></ul>
