Senior Data Software Engineer
<p><b>Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Strong interest in data, particularly in data engineering, data science, or machine learning.</li><li>Solid technical background with experience in Java, Python, TypeScript, or similar languages.</li><li>Experience developing software using Test-Driven Development (TDD) or a strong willingness to adopt TDD practices.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.</li><li>Good communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>Proactive mindset with attention to detail and commitment to quality.</li><li>Senior experience working with cloud platforms, ideally AWS (desirable).</li><li>Strong Linux background (desirable).</li><li>Experience with data integration and messaging technologies such as Apache NiFi, Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar tools (desirable).</li><li>Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation (desirable).</li><li>Previous experience working in a consultancy or public sector delivery environment (desirable).</li><li>Familiarity with secure or regulated environments (desirable).</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Design, build, and maintain scalable data processing and integration systems to support data science and analytics workloads.</li><li>Develop high-quality, well-tested software using a Test-Driven Development (TDD) approach.</li><li>Collaborate closely with data scientists to enable effective use of data for analytics and machine learning.</li><li>Build and operate cloud-based solutions with a strong focus on AWS services.</li><li>Work with messaging, streaming, or data flow technologies to support real-time and batch data processing.</li><li>Contribute to infrastructure and platform automation using Infrastructure as Code.</li><li>Participate in agile ceremonies, technical design discussions, and code reviews.</li><li>Ensure solutions meet security, performance, and reliability requirements within public sector environments.</li></ul>
