Senior Embedded Software Engineer
<p><b>Salary: £75,000 - 75,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Proven experience at senior or lead level in firmware or embedded systems engineering</li><li>Strong commercial experience with C++</li><li>Solid understanding of Embedded Linux</li><li>Comfortable working hands-on with hardware and low-level interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, etc.)</li><li>Proven ability to take ownership of major components or subsystems</li><li>Confident in influencing technical direction and supporting other engineers</li><li>Strong communication and problem-solving skills</li><li>Nice to Have: ARM, OpenCV, Python, Assembly, Matlab, FPGAs, experience with imaging, sensors or high-speed hardware systems, calibration or hardware optimisation experience</li></ul>

<ul><li>Develop and lead embedded software and firmware in C++ and Embedded Linux</li><li>Build and maintain low-level software and hardware interfaces</li><li>Work with hardware engineers on board bring-up, testing, and prototype development</li><li>Own features across the full lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, debugging, and validation</li><li>Support technical discussions and help guide system-level decisions</li></ul>

<p>We are an established engineering business looking for a Senior/Lead Embedded Software Engineer to take ownership of a brand-new hardware development project. This clean-slate build provides you with full scope to shape the firmware direction from day one. Our company builds advanced technology used by major tech organizations and government bodies, and you will contribute directly to one of our next key products. This role involves direct hands-on work with real hardware, close collaboration with engineering leadership, and provides long-term technical impact. The position is hybrid, based in Edinburgh, with 1-2 days onsite.</p>
