Platform Engineer (Security & AI) - Newcastle Upon Tyne
<p><b>Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (AWS exposure also useful)/n- Solid knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code/n- Ability to build and deploy cloud solutions independently/n- Understanding of security principles: IAM, networking, encryption, monitoring tools, etc./n- Awareness of security frameworks and best practices/n- Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Build, deploy and manage secure cloud infrastructure, primarily in Google Cloud Platform/n- Utilize Terraform and Infrastructure as Code to deliver scalable, secure cloud services/n- Work with GCP components including BigQuery to support the organisations analytical and data platforms/n- Collaborate closely with DevOps, Platform, and AI teams to deliver production-ready solutions/n- Apply a security mindset to cloud builds, deployments, and automation pipelines/n- Contribute to the design and improvement of the organisations cloud security model/n- Work with the AI/Automation team to understand security threats and best practices around emerging AI technologies/n- Educate the wider security team on AI-related risks, vulnerabilities, and use cases/n- Support monitoring, detection, and incident response within cloud environments/n- Help mature vulnerability management processes and security playbooks/n- Ensure cloud services align with recognised frameworks (e.g. ISO27001, SOC2, PCI, GDPR)/n- Assist with risk assessments for new systems, cloud services, and third-party integrations/n- Act as the bridge between the Security team and the AI team/n- Work closely with Engineering, Legal, and Technology teams on secure delivery</li></ul>
