Data Architect
<p><b>Salary: £40,000 - 50,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Experience with Data Architecture and governance</li><li>Proficiency in public-cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)</li><li>Strong knowledge of SQL Server and data integration with third-party systems</li><li>Ideally has experience with Microsoft Fabric</li><li>Experience with data modelling and metadata management</li><li>Relevant degree or post-graduate qualification, preferably with certification in Cloud Architecture and Data Management</li><li>Strong skills in data modelling and architecture, cloud-native data services, on-premises systems, and migration strategies</li><li>Familiarity with GitHub CI/CD for data pipelines</li><li>Understanding of data-informed decision making, ideally in an OKR framework</li><li>Proactive and collaborative problem-solver, accustomed to managing pressure</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Define and maintain the organizations data architecture strategy across cloud and on-premises environments</li><li>Ensure alignment with business goals, scalability, and future-proofing of data platforms</li><li>Lead the design and implementation of data solutions that integrate Azure cloud-native services with legacy SQL Server systems and third-party APIs and data feeds</li><li>Develop and enforce data modelling standards (conceptual, logical, physical) across platforms</li><li>Promote reuse, consistency, and quality in data structures</li><li>Collaborate closely with data engineers, BI developers, and analysts to support efficient data ingestion, transformation, and reporting</li><li>Architect secure and reliable data flows from external providers, ensuring compliance with data governance and contractual obligations</li><li>Ensure data architecture complies with internal governance policies and external regulations (e.g., GDPR)</li><li>Support data stewardship and metadata management initiatives</li><li>Monitor and optimize data architecture for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability across cloud and on-premises systems</li><li>Maintain clear documentation of data architecture, standards, and decisions</li></ul>

You will help realize the value of the immense Connells Group dataset for the benefit of customers, colleagues, and the overall business. We offer a hybrid working arrangement with 2 days per week in our office in Milton Keynes.</p>
