Senior Firmware Engineer
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Strong all-round software engineering background with applied design experience</li><li>Degree educated in Software, Electronics, or related discipline (minimum 2:1)</li><li>Proactive, innovative, and comfortable working in a collaborative, multi-skilled environment</li><li>Confident designing and owning firmware architectures</li><li>Familiarity with Visual Studio, DevOps, and Git is desirable</li><li>Ability to read schematics and identify pinouts and port capabilities is a plus</li><li>Experience with design for low to medium volume manufacturing is beneficial</li><li>Knowledge of wireless technologies (RFID, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) is advantageous</li><li>Experience with Microchip PICs, CPLDs, or FPGAs is desirable</li><li>Interest or background in photography is a plus</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Architecting, designing, and developing firmware solutions</li><li>Developing embedded Linux on ARM and x86 imaging architectures</li><li>Working with STM32 ARM microcontrollers, Raspberry Pi, and NXP i.MX platforms</li><li>Interfacing with analogue, digital, and electromechanical components and sensors</li><li>Developing basic graphical user interfaces</li><li>Implementing communication interfaces (USB 3.2, MIPI, PCIe, I2C, SPI)</li><li>Managing camera, motor, temperature, and lighting control (lasers, LEDs, flash lamps)</li><li>Supporting basic safety-critical circuitry</li><li>Collaborating closely with electronics, mechanical, software, physics, optics, and chemistry teams</li><li>Taking ownership of designs and providing technical leadership when required</li></ul>
