Software Architect
<p><b>Salary: £45,000 - 65,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Strong technical practitioner with the ability to make important architectural and design decisions.</li><li>Knowledge of modern and established software architecture techniques and design patterns.</li><li>Experience with model-based engineering.</li><li>Ability to provide technical mentorship and articulate software architecture solutions.</li><li>Clear and accurate communication skills, including the ability to influence collaborators and internal customers.</li><li>Advocate for key software engineering practices like continuous integration and good design.</li><li>Ability to assess and communicate trade-offs between aspects of Software Architecture, with a focus on design rationale.</li><li>Understanding of software abstraction layers and the software stack.</li><li>Experience in defining and influencing tools, frameworks, and technologies used.</li><li>Strong programming background, preferably with experience in multiple languages.</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Author the full software architecture, working with software delivery teams to define and monitor the Structural and Temporal Architecture, including Internal/External interfaces to meet requirements.</li><li>Identify and document design drivers such as real-time performance, safety, security, user experience, simplicity, reusability, and flexibility.</li><li>Produce derived and emergent requirements, capturing assumptions and rationale.</li><li>Define the architecture to a point where implementation decisions do not affect its integrity.</li><li>Collaborate closely with other Architects, Technical Specialists, and wider engineering key contacts to support design activities and reviews.</li><li>Influence the Software Engineering Technology Strategy, product lines, new technologies, and methods by participating in special interest groups and communities of interests.</li></ul>
