Technical Architect
<p><b>Salary: £18,200 - 19,500 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Extensive experience designing and delivering complex technology solutions, ideally in public sector, government, or other highly regulated environments.</li><li>Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, NAF, or Zachman.</li><li>Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and DevOps/CI-CD practices.</li><li>Strong understanding of Web Applications, Microservices, APIs, authentication/authorization protocols, and data architecture.</li><li>Knowledge of secure software development practices, GDPR, OWASP, and NCSC cloud security principles.</li><li>Experience delivering AI-based solutions, real-time data integration, or IoT solutions is advantageous.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.</li><li>Experience providing guidance to senior stakeholders and influencing solution design across multiple teams.</li><li>Track record of mentoring and developing internal teams, promoting best practices and capability growth.</li><li>Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to provide innovative solutions in complex environments.</li><li>Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.</li><li>Experience in highly regulated environments (government, defence, or equivalent).</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Lead the technical design of large and highly complex systems, ensuring quality, performance, and compliance.</li><li>Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the project lifecycle to embed architectural considerations into all phases of delivery.</li><li>Provide technical guidance, governance, and mentorship to development and delivery teams.</li><li>Evaluate technical designs, changes, and proposals, making recommendations and assessing associated risks.</li><li>Develop technology roadmaps and evaluate emerging technologies to inform future solutions.</li><li>Act as a technical authority during client engagements, proof-of-concepts, and pre-sales activities.</li><li>Establish and enforce architectural principles, standards, and best practices, including security and compliance considerations.</li><li>Support internal capability development, including mentoring junior staff and promoting knowledge sharing.</li></ul>
