Mainframe DB2 System Administrator

<p><b>Salary: £42,000 - 82,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Deep technical knowledge of SMP/E and z/OS internals</li><li>Experience with third-party management tools like Broadcom Platinum and Broadcom SYSVIEW</li><li>Experience in IMS installation and Production DB2/IMS DBA support</li><li>Knowledge of DB2 security implementation using RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Ensure high availability and optimal performance of the DB2 subsystem</li><li>Use SMP/E to install, patch (PTFs), and upgrade DB2 subsystems</li><li>Monitor and tune DB2 system parameters (ZPARMS), buffer pools, and EDM pools</li><li>Design and implement backup and recovery strategies for the DB2 catalog and directory</li><li>Install and maintain third-party products (e.g., Platinum, SYSVIEW for DB2) for database management and monitoring</li><li>Implement and manage DB2 security</li></ul>
