Engineering Manager
<p><b>Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Proven track record of hands-on leadership with agile, cross-functional engineering teams</li><li>Demonstrated experience in client-facing technical leadership</li><li>Exceptional proficiency in software architecture and development, particularly on CMS architectures and platform integrations</li><li>Experience with PHP-based CMSes, such as Drupal, and frontend technologies like React/Next.js, GraphQL, and Storybook</li><li>Strong knowledge of software architecture and design patterns</li><li>Proficiency in version control systems, especially Git</li><li>Commitment to continuous improvement and staying abreast of industry trends</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Lead and nurture a squad of 6-8 engineers</li><li>Develop strong client relationships as the primary technical contact</li><li>Provide senior oversight and direction to the technical approach on all projects</li><li>Champion agile delivery model and ensure projects are delivered on time and budget</li><li>Work in partnership with sector teams to identify opportunities for consultancy services</li><li>Advise clients on overall technical strategy based on experience and industry trends</li><li>Manage technical and support relationships with clients</li><li>Ensure team members are engaged and committed to project administration</li><li>Conduct regular ceremonies of Agile project management, such as standups and sprint planning</li><li>Develop and lead an effective squad, providing coaching and mentorship</li><li>Ensure effective onboarding of new technical team members</li><li>Assess performance for impact scoring and hold regular 1:1 meetings</li><li>Lead technical oversight and risk mitigation for client work</li><li>Identify and address issues affecting technical delivery</li><li>Proactively adapt technical approaches as technologies change</li></ul>
