Senior Scientist - Cyber AI/ML Research
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Bachelors degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science or related discipline.</li><li>Recent PhD or Masters degree focusing on Cyber Security of AI/ML.</li><li>Deep understanding of AI/ML algorithms, vulnerabilities, and applications.</li><li>Strong Python programming and software development experience.</li><li>Experience in research, innovation, or solution development within relevant domains.</li><li>Industry experience applying AI/ML to cyber security (desirable).</li><li>Academic publication track record (desirable).</li><li>Experience with NDAs, IPR, IP management or patent processes (desirable).</li><li>Experience in data analytics or AI/ML techniques applied to security problems (desirable).</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Lead and deliver AI/ML-focused cyber security research projects.</li><li>Conduct research into emerging digital security threats and opportunities.</li><li>Produce technical reports, white papers, prototypes and research outputs.</li><li>Contribute to patent applications and academic or industry publications.</li><li>Work closely with internal R&D, engineering and security teams.</li><li>Support academic partnerships, innovation programmes, and external collaborations.</li><li>Provide consultancy on specialist cyber security topics across the organisation.</li><li>Build strong internal networks across technical and security domains.</li><li>Represent the innovation function in internal and external engagements.</li><li>Support integration of research outcomes into operational security practices.</li></ul>

<p>We are a leading organisation within the defence and secure technology sector, seeking a Senior Scientist specialising in Cyber Security of AI/ML. This contract position is based in Newport with a minimum of 3 days on site, lasting 12 months with strong potential for extension. We offer a flexible working schedule, paying £50 per hour Umbrella or £37.38 per hour PAYE for 35 hours per week. Our team is focused on high-impact cyber security challenges where no existing solutions currently exist, and we are committed to advancing research, innovation, and knowledge transfer in this critical field.</p>
