Software Engineer - Database & Display
<p><b>Salary: £110,000 - 132,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>SCADA/EMS/DMS Developer expertise</li><li>Hands-on experience with databases: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MYSQL, or similar RDBMS</li><li>Strong skills in Database Design and Data Modeling</li><li>Experience with Display & Visualization SLD creation, HMI development, and operator displays</li><li>Programming/Scripting knowledge in C, C++, PERL, Java, or equivalent</li><li>Proven skills in real-time data acquisition and Historian integration</li><li>Experience in performance tuning and monitoring of database systems</li><li>Familiarity with version control systems like Git, SVN, or equivalent</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Effective communication and collaboration skills</li><li>Experience in incident management and root-cause analysis</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Design, develop, and maintain databases and data models for real-time power system applications</li><li>Enhance and maintain display applications, dashboards, and HMI interfaces for operators and engineers</li><li>Ensure high performance, reliability, and integrity of database systems under real-time operational loads</li><li>Perform database tuning, indexing, query optimization, and performance monitoring</li><li>Develop and maintain scripts, APIs, and services for data integration, replication, and reporting</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve database and display issues, performing root-cause analysis and corrective actions</li><li>Maintain documentation, including database schemas and display specifications</li></ul>
