Cloud Engineering Consultant
<p><b>Salary: £50,000 - 50,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Experience in operating systems: Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Microsoft</li><li>Familiarity with virtualization technologies: VMware (NSX-T, VCF, VCD), KVM, Hyper-V, Proxmox, Nutanix</li><li>Knowledge of public cloud platforms: AWS, Azure</li><li>Proficiency in automation tools: Git, Ansible, Terraform</li><li>Scripting skills in Bash, Python, PowerShell</li><li>Understanding of security systems including VPNs, load balancers, firewalls</li><li>Networking knowledge: OSI model, VLANs, L2/L3 configuration</li><li>Familiarity with protocols: HTTP, DNS, SSL/HTTPS, SMTP</li><li>Understanding of server hardware, including hardware/software RAID</li><li>Experience in technical projects and data center operations</li><li>Experience in Incident and Problem Management with excellent troubleshooting skills</li><li>Strong problem-solving mindset and analytical thinking</li><li>Ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments</li><li>Strong organizational and forward planning skills</li><li>Passion for cybersecurity and continuous learning</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Act as an escalation point for enterprise infrastructure across hardware, applications, and networks</li><li>Work closely with customers and technical specialists to resolve incidents within SLA</li><li>Provide clear incident/problem updates and customer communications</li><li>Support continuous improvement by documenting solutions and updating knowledge bases</li><li>Maintain accurate configuration and asset management records</li><li>Champion a security first approach across systems and services</li><li>Take ownership of personal and technical development</li><li>Mentor colleagues and support internal knowledge transfer</li><li>Assist with change evaluation and scheduling</li><li>Play a technical role across customer and internal projects from discovery and design through to implementation</li><li>Become a subject matter expert for key customer accounts and technologies</li><li>Oversee full product lifecycles, from pre-sales and design through to build and ongoing operations</li><li>Support pre-sales activities by gathering requirements and ensuring secure, scalable technical proposals</li></ul>
