Solution Developer
<p><b>Salary: £42,000 - 82,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>A STEM background with proven experience in product development, ideally within construction or manufacturing</li><li>Strong, demonstrable experience in New Product Development (NPD) focused on NPD projects</li><li>Clear understanding of development and manufacturing processes, with the ability to explain and apply them</li><li>Experience working with manufacturing operations, including outsourced suppliers, with the ability to define and assess quality and performance standards</li><li>Confidence working cross-functionally with R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial teams</li><li>Ability to translate customer insight into robust technical requirements and development plans</li><li>Proactive, resilient, and solution-oriented mindset, with strong communication and influencing skills</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Lead New Product Development projects from concept to launch, aligned to the SGIS innovation calendar</li><li>Analyze construction market trends and customer needs to identify new solution opportunities</li><li>Gather customer insight from house builders, main contractors, and architects, and translate this into clear technical specifications</li><li>Design, develop, and test formulations, materials, and systems in laboratory environments</li><li>Build and test full-scale prototypes to evaluate real-world performance</li><li>Work closely with manufacturing teams, both internal and external, to define quality standards and ensure solutions are manufacturable at scale</li><li>Collaborate with suppliers to align quality, performance, and supply requirements</li><li>Visit construction sites and external test facilities to validate solutions in live environments</li><li>Lead cross-functional project teams and influence stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within scope, and budget</li><li>Ensure all solutions meet safety, quality, compliance, and sustainability standards, supporting Saint-Gobains net zero ambitions</li></ul>
