Principal Automation Software Development Engineer
<p><b>Salary: £38,000 - 78,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience</li><li>10 years of relevant software engineering experience</li><li>4 years of test automation leadership experience</li><li>Strong proficiency in Python or comparable scripting languages</li><li>Expert-level understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Design Patterns</li><li>Strong grounding in software testing principles, methodologies, and automation best practices</li><li>Experience with at least one major automation testing tool</li><li>Strong understanding of Agile development, Continuous Delivery, and DevOps practices</li><li>Experience with development lifecycle tools including source control, CI/CD, requirements management, and defect tracking</li><li>Nice to Have: Experience with Qt/QML</li><li>Nice to Have: Embedded Linux application development</li><li>Nice to Have: Experience with Squish, Selenium, or similar frameworks</li><li>Nice to Have: Background in regulated industries (medical, aerospace, defence, finance, etc.)</li><li>Nice to Have: Experience with integrated hardware/software products, particularly medical devices</li><li>Nice to Have: Knowledge of Bash, PowerShell, containerised environments, or virtualised environments</li><li>Nice to Have: Experience working with international, cross-regional teams (EU, India, US)</li></ul>

<ul><li>Translate product and system requirements into robust, scalable automated test solutions</li><li>Lead cross-functional reviews of software requirements, architecture, interface design, and UI design</li><li>Drive test automation component and framework design, ensuring alignment with existing interfaces and system specifications</li><li>Plan, prioritise, and maintain the automation teams backlog</li><li>Develop, debug, review, and document high-quality automation code</li><li>Define and champion automation architectures, tools, workflows, and best practices across the team</li><li>Ensure high-quality, timely delivery of automated tests, documentation, and supporting artefacts</li><li>Mentor and guide team members to support their technical and professional growth</li><li>Foster a high-performance environment built on accountability, collaboration, and respect</li><li>Model ethical behaviour consistent with our Company Code of Conduct</li><li>Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support business goals</li></ul>
