Automation Engineer - SC Clearance
<p><b>Salary: £36,000 - 50,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Minimum of 12 months hands-on experience in creating complex Python3 automation classes for production systems</li><li>Experience using configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet</li><li>Proficient in scripting with Bash for deployment and automation tasks</li><li>Experience in automated deployment of server, network, and storage technology across multiple vendors</li><li>Proven ability to support large infrastructure environments</li><li>Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware or software failures</li><li>Experience working within Agile teams</li><li>Advanced Python3 and PowerShell scripting skills, including workflows and desired configuration states</li><li>Valid SC security clearance</li><li>Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills</li><li>Professional certifications aligned with networking, virtualisation, Linux, or software development obtained within the last five years are highly desirable</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Design, develop, and validate automation components supporting the NSoIT(D) Platform</li><li>Create zero touch automation solutions using Python3, Ansible, and Bash</li><li>Automate hardware features, services, configurations, and integrate with external APIs</li><li>Develop robust, production-quality code following industry best practices</li><li>Conduct collaborative peer reviews and manage version control using GIT and BitBucket</li><li>Produce comprehensive design artefacts</li><li>Support system testing activities</li><li>Work closely with Service Management to resolve issues</li><li>Ensure reliable and repeatable deployment processes across diverse infrastructure environments</li></ul>
