Oracle DBA (Active SC Cleared)
<p><b>Salary: £85,000 - 100,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Active and current SC Clearance (mandatory)</li><li>Strong DBA experience across Oracle and SQL Server platforms</li><li>Oracle administration (11g, 12c, 19c)</li><li>SQL Server administration (2016, 2019)</li><li>Experience with RMAN, Data Guard and ASM</li><li>Strong SQL query tuning and optimisation skills</li><li>Proven experience implementing backup and recovery strategies</li><li>Experience working within Linux/UNIX and Windows Server environments</li><li>Strong collaboration skills across technical teams</li><li>Knowledge of cloud-based database platforms (Azure, AWS RDS, Oracle Cloud) (desirable)</li><li>Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills (desirable)</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Install, configure and maintain Oracle and SQL Server database environments</li><li>Perform database upgrades, patching, migrations and backup operations</li><li>Manage database users, roles, privileges and security policies</li><li>Monitor and optimise database performance (indexing, partitioning, AWR reports, tracing)</li><li>Troubleshoot slow-running queries and optimise SQL code</li><li>Implement and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions including RMAN, Data Guard, ASM and SQL Server AlwaysOn</li><li>Conduct backup validation, disaster recovery planning and failover testing</li><li>Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory standards</li><li>Perform audits, risk assessments and security hardening</li><li>Provide L2/L3 support for database incidents and participate in on-call rotation</li><li>Collaborate with solution architects, developers and infrastructure teams</li><li>Act as SME for database performance incidents, root cause analysis and major production events</li></ul>

<p>We are seeking an experienced Oracle DBA with strong SQL Server expertise to support critical production database environments in Wokingham. This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days onsite work, with a contract duration of 6 months and a day rate of £425 (Inside IR35). The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, security, and resilience of enterprise database platforms across Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server technologies.
