Technical Architect - Fixed Term Contract
<p><b>Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Strong experience designing and delivering technical solutions within complex environments.</li><li>Hands-on AWS knowledge (including serverless) and strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.</li><li>Solid understanding of modern coding practices, API contract management and object-oriented design.</li><li>Experience with distributed systems, messaging architectures and a range of database technologies.</li><li>Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.</li><li>Collaborative, proactive and confident working with cross-functional teams.</li><li>Comfortable identifying technical debt, proposing improvements and influencing architectural decisions.</li><li>BSc/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience; AWS certifications desirable.</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Produce and maintain Low-Level Designs aligned with solution architecture and business needs.</li><li>Ensure designs meet architectural standards and escalate deviations where required.</li><li>Publish and maintain API contracts and support the Developer Portal.</li><li>Identify and manage technical debt, supporting prioritisation with squads.</li><li>Drive refactoring and technical improvement initiatives.</li><li>Support incident investigation and resolution with engineering teams.</li><li>Lead documentation and standardisation across product areas.</li><li>Evaluate new technologies and lead proof-of-concept work.</li><li>Translate solution designs into actionable work items and shape requirements.</li><li>Manage and optimise cloud and infrastructure costs.</li><li>Collaborate with other architects to align on standards and best practice.</li><li>Review third-party architectural designs for compliance.</li><li>Advise stakeholders and raise risks that may impact delivery or standards.</li><li>Work with Data Architects to support required data artefacts.</li></ul>
