Mainframe DB2 System Administrator - Edinburgh/London

<p><b>Salary: £35,000 - 55,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Deep technical knowledge of SMP/E and z/OS internals</li><li>Experience with third-party management tools like Broadcom Platinum and SYSVIEW</li><li>Strong skills in DB2 subsystem management</li><li>Knowledge of RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret for security implementation</li><li>Experience in IMS installation and production DB2/IMS DBA support</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Ensure high availability and optimal performance of the DB2 subsystem</li><li>Use SMP/E to install, patch (PTFs), and upgrade DB2 subsystems</li><li>Monitor and tune DB2 system parameters (ZPARMS), buffer pools, and EDM pools</li><li>Design and implement backup and recovery strategies for the DB2 catalog and directory</li><li>Install and maintain third-party products like Platinum and SYSVIEW for database management and monitoring</li><li>Implement and manage DB2 security using RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret</li></ul>
