Staff Data Engineer

<ul><li>Expertise in modern Data Engineering</li><li>Experience with building and operating data platforms in cloud environments (AWS preferred)</li><li>Strong foundations in data modelling, transformation, and orchestration</li><li>Pragmatic approach to architecture decisions, balancing long-term thinking with delivery needs</li><li>Proven ability to improve data quality, discoverability, and usability across an organization</li><li>Experience in a hands-on leadership role with a focus on Data Engineering</li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across teams and with non-technical stakeholders</li><li>Collaborative and pragmatic work ethic</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Set the direction for Data Engineering and build data foundations to support company growth</li><li>Manage the data lifecycle, including ingestion, transformation, modeling, serving, and ensuring accessibility</li><li>Build and improve trusted, self-serve data capabilities for internal teams and product use cases</li><li>Ensure clear ownership and governance of data initiatives</li><li>Partner with Data Science and Platform teams to deliver secure and well-operated data systems</li><li>Collaborate across Engineering and the wider business to reduce operational overhead and improve maintainability and reliability</li><li>Strengthen standards, simplify patterns, and enhance the overall data infrastructure</li></ul>
