Lead Data Engineer (QA)
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Strong experience in data engineering or QA data engineering within modern data platforms.</li><li>Proven expertise in automated data testing and validation (e.g. expectations-based frameworks).</li><li>Advanced skills in Python and SQL, with a solid understanding of ETL/ELT and data modelling.</li><li>Experience working with cloud data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery).</li><li>Deep understanding of data quality, governance, lineage, and observability concepts.</li><li>Confidence influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders at senior levels.</li><li>Experience leading, mentoring, or setting standards for other engineers.</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Own and lead the end-to-end data quality and testing strategy across data pipelines and platforms.</li><li>Design and implement automated testing frameworks for batch and streaming data pipelines.</li><li>Define and enforce data quality rules, metrics, and monitoring across key datasets.</li><li>Integrate data testing and validation into CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows.</li><li>Partner with Data Engineers to review pipeline design, transformations, and schema changes.</li><li>Lead root-cause analysis for data incidents and drive long-term preventative improvements.</li><li>Establish documentation, standards, and governance processes for data quality and assurance.</li><li>Mentor and develop engineers, embedding strong quality engineering practices across teams.</li></ul>
