Software Engineering Manager (Web Frontend)
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>10 years of commercial experience building web and front-end applications</li><li>At least 4 years of experience leading engineering teams</li><li>High proficiency in React and AWS cloud technology stack</li><li>Strong grasp of front-end design patterns and best practices</li><li>Proven hands-on software engineering background across modern web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React-based frameworks)</li><li>Strong understanding of modern front-end architecture (state management, routing, performance optimization, module federation, accessibility standards)</li><li>Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines</li><li>Solid understanding of secure API integration (authentication and authorization flows)</li><li>Comfortable leading design implementation and collaborating closely with Product and Design teams (Figma experience preferred)</li><li>Experience in cloud-native environments (AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes)</li><li>Advocate for quality and security, embedding automated testing and code quality checks into development pipelines</li><li>Passionate about mentoring and developing engineers through coaching and code reviews</li><li>Proven experience in leading high-performing engineering teams in fast-paced environments</li><li>Strong communication and articulation skills</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Recruit, lead, and develop an agile team of 5-7 front-end and web engineers</li><li>Own people management responsibilities including hiring, onboarding, and performance management</li><li>Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture</li><li>Provide hands-on technical leadership for the design and delivery of front-end web applications</li><li>Define and uphold front-end engineering standards, best practices, and architectural principles</li><li>Lead technical decision-making, balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term maintainability</li><li>Ensure applications are performant, accessible, secure, and compliant</li><li>Lead the integration of front-end platforms with backend services using GraphQL APIs</li><li>Collaborate with backend, platform, and DevOps teams for reliable deployments</li><li>Take ownership of the agile software development lifecycle, including Scrum ceremonies and production deployments</li><li>Promote iterative delivery focused on customer outcomes</li><li>Ensure high code quality through code reviews and automated testing</li><li>Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and business stakeholders to align delivery with product strategy</li></ul>
