Senior Dev-Ops Engineer
<p><b>Salary: £51,000 - 51,000 per year</b></p>
<b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>Proven experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer or similar role</li><li>Strong technical skills in SQL Server, Database management and optimization, OneAdvanced ProSolution/ProSuite, APIs, systems integration, and Microsoft Azure DevOps</li><li>Relevant Azure and DevOps accreditations</li><li>Experience working in a large Further Education college is preferred</li><li>Ability to design systems and support application development roadmaps</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure</li><li>Strong communication and collaboration abilities</li><li>Familiarity with ITSM systems and service request management</li></ul>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Act as a technical architect for applications services to support the company IT and digital strategy</li><li>Support delivery of PMO projects, including the building of the new Data Warehouse</li><li>Act as the company technical specialist for MIS systems like OneAdvanced ProSolution, taking responsibility for integration, patching, optimization, and support</li><li>Create, configure, maintain, and support company databases</li><li>Maintain a library of documented code and configurations</li><li>Support the technical implementation of the DevOps function, including Microsoft Azure DevOps</li><li>Provide applications support for all core and non-core IT systems</li><li>Lead the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) element of the company data warehouse</li><li>Provide platform support, including system builds, upgrades, patching, and fault resolution</li><li>Work as part of the DevOps resolver team to resolve incidents by priority</li><li>Provide out-of-hours support for major incidents and upgrades as necessary</li><li>Ensure applications are documented, configured, monitored, and updated</li><li>Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver technology applications projects</li><li>Work with DevOps Infrastructure colleagues to ensure optimal platform builds</li><li>Provide 3rd line application support to all colleagues</li><li>Accurately record and update service requests and incidents in the ITSM system</li><li>Act as a permanent member of the Technical Change Board</li><li>Mentor DevOps Applications Engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge</li><li>Work with the Head of DevOps to create and maintain a Skills matrix</li><li>Act as project lead when necessary, ensuring training of colleagues to the required level</li><li>Deputize for the Head of DevOps when needed</li><li>Ensure high-level customer service in all company activities including Exams</li><li>Encourage innovative thinking among colleagues to improve processes</li><li>Seek automation opportunities to reduce incident frequency and routine tasks</li></ul>
