<p>First Momentum Ventures is hiring for a <strong>pre-seed Deep Tech startup</strong> industrialising fusion and turning Sci-Fi machines into manufacturable, repeatable products.</p>
<p>At the centre of this strategy is the <strong>industrialisation of high-field superconducting magnet systems</strong>, to unlock compact fusion and near-term commercial applications in medical imaging and industrial inspection.</p>
<p>Backed by First Momentum, Europe’s leading early-stage deep tech investor, <strong>the founding team is now hiring its</strong> <strong>first technical engineer</strong> as it moves from research concept to prototype hardware.</p>
<h2>Tasks</h2>
<ul>
<li>System-level architecture of the HTS magnet platform</li>
<li>Design, development, and validation of HTS coils for fusion and MRI-class applications</li>
<li>Demountable superconducting joint development</li>
<li>Quench detection, protection, and instrumentation</li>
<li>Prototype campaigns from bench experiments to sub-scale hardware</li>
<li>Defining the path from early prototypes toward repeatable, industrialised production</li>
</ul>
<h2>Requirements</h2>
<p>Must-haves:</p>
<ul>
<li>Deep experience with superconducting magnet systems (HTS preferred; strong LTS fundamentals acceptable)</li>
<li>Demonstrated ownership of real hardware: built, tested, debugged, iterated</li>
<li>Familiarity with REBCO/HTS materials, coil winding, quench protection, and superconducting instrumentation</li>
<li>Comfortable with high autonomy and low structure at an early-stage company</li>
</ul>
<p>Nice-to-haves:</p>
<ul>
<li>Experience bridging research and product development</li>
<li>Interest in design-to-manufacture and industrialisation of advanced systems</li>
</ul>
<p>Typical backgrounds: magnet design engineers, applied superconductivity researchers, HTS system developers, or research engineers ready to build products instead of papers.</p>
